Vita de Francesco Ferrucci, [ca. 1550].

This manuscript was written on small folio paper, and probably bound in the early 17th century in Italian limp boards. The text is written in a large cursive roughly 29 lines to a page. It is an anonymous and probably an unknown biography of Francesco Ferrucci, the Florentine merchant, farmer, and condottiere, who was killed in 1530 in the defense of Florence against the returning Medici. This work was probably that of a contemporary who was likely an eye-witness to much that he described; however, he borrowed from contemporary sources as indicated by neat marginal references. The narrative breaks off suddenly and the work is obviously unfinished, but it still contains the details of the battle of 1530.
